A couple of years ago, you probably only need to choose between cable provider and satelite provider when it comes down to your TV service provider. Now you must have heard about the Verizon FIOS. So you might be thinking to yourself should I switch or stay?
Nothing fits all the needs. They all have pros and cons.
Cable has been arounds for years and cost effective, with no contracts. It usually comes with movies on demand. However, the bandwith is not as great as fiber counterpart, FIOS for instance.
Satelite offers by far the most HD content, especially sports channels but requires some form of contract and initial equipement setup which you may have to pay. But on-demand feature is not as good as Cable.
Fiber provides the fastest and best bandwith among them, which brings the best quality of video and audio content, but the availability is limited.
So choosing which on really depends on what you need, what you can afford and what is available. Of course switching to different type of carrier may require some hardware investment, like HDTV, DVR, and ect. They could be expensive. Home electronics lists some deals on home theater system, satelite TV, HDTV.
